SUMMER REMINDERS
Hot Weather and Hayfever

With the warmer weather conditions, students should be adequately prepared for the day. All students should bring a reusable water bottle to school every day, as part of our equipment requirements. They can be refilled at the water fountains around school site.

Students are also permitted to wear smart, tailored black shorts during warm weather. No other styles of shorts are acceptable.

With the current high pollen count, please can you also ensure your child has taken appropriate preventative medication (if necessary) in the morning to ensure they do not suffer during the day. We DO NOT have hayfever medication in school.

STUDY LEAVE
Arrangements from Monday 11 May

From the morning of Monday 11 May, students may revise from home and only need to attend school if they have an exam. We are going to run a study room for any Year 11s who want to revise in school.

Students are welcome to come to the Restaurant before each exam, which will be a Year 11 revision space. Previous cohorts have embraced this opportunity to spend time with friends and teachers either for reassurance or last-minute revision before going into an exam. The Restaurant will be open from 7:30am before morning exams and after break (11:20am) for afternoon exams.

Each exam will have an in-person intervention session after school the day before the exam, from 3:30-4:30pm. These are highly recommended, but not compulsory. If students do not have an exam, they do not need to wear uniform if attending an after-school session.

All morning exams start at 9am and all afternoon exams start at 1pm. Students must arrive to school at least 15 minutes before their scheduled exam, and they must be wearing full and correct school uniform.

The Restaurant will be open for Year 11s to have lunch at 12:20pm each day if they want to eat in school. Free school meals will be available at this time too.

We wish all our students the best of luck for their exams.

STUDY LEAVE
Arrangements from Monday 11 May

Students should check with their HOD or Key Stage Leader about study for their specific subject. Due to the nature of the exam dates, we will be running a hybrid study leave system. Some students will have the majority of their exams before half-term and others will have no exams until after half-term. This means:

  • Individual departments will decide if lessons will continue up to Friday 22 May.
  • Each subject area will communicate clearly with students regarding which lessons are mandatory (if any) during this period of time.
  • There will be no more timetabled lessons after Friday 22 May.

We wish all our students the best of luck for their exams.
