Welcome to our weekly News Bulletin: Friday 15 November 2024

YEAR 7 - YEAR 11 FLU VACCINATIONS
Monday 9 December 2024

Flu can be an unpleasant illness and can cause serious complications. Vaccinating your child will protect them and also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

The school immunisation team will be visiting Little Heath on Monday 9 December 2024 to administer flu vaccinations. If you would like your child to be vaccinated, please complete the electronic consent form using the link below (one for each child) and insert our unique code: BK110063.

Flu nasal spray consent link (contains small amounts of porcine gelatine)

To give consent for your child to receive the nasal flu vaccine, please complete the following consent form:

Consent for Flu Nasal Spray

Injectable flu vaccine consent link (porcine free)

If you decline the nasal spray due to its porcine content, please use this link to consent to an injectable form of flu vaccine:

Consent for Injectable Form of Flu Vaccine (Porcine Free)

Please note this is given via injection in the upper arm.

We ask for your child’s NHS number on all consent forms. This allows your child’s immunisation to be recorded on their GP records. The NHS number can be found at Find your NHS number - NHS (www.nhs.uk).

Even if your child had the vaccine last year, the type of flu can vary each winter, so it is recommended to have it again this year. For further information see: www.nhs.uk/child-flu

Vaccination saves lives and is the most important thing we can do to protect ourselves and our children against ill health.

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
11–15 November 2024

This week is Anti-Bullying Week. We are a talking and a listening school, and we work with students and staff constantly to tackle bullying.

Our Behaviour Policy on the school website outlines our Anti-Bullying Policy. This policy is based on the premise that every member of the Little Heath School Community, adult and child, has the right to feel safe and secure. At Little Heath School we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our students so they can learn in a positive and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school and should not be tolerated in any form.

Please find a number of resources below to support you if your child is experiencing bullying, or you suspect they may be being bullied. This includes our Behaviour Policy:

GLUE STICKS

Just a reminder that students should bring a glue stick to school every day, and should not rely on teachers to lend them out.

We have very affordable stationery for sale in our Resources department, which is open at break and lunchtime, as well as before tutor time and after school. Glue sticks are on sale at just 40p each.
