SPORTS DAY ARRANGEMENTS
Monday 23 June

Monday 23 June will be our annual Sports Day afternoon for students in years 7-10, and year 12.

Students will be expected to have all their books and materials for Periods 1, 2 and 3 only. Lunch will take place from 12:10pm-12:50pm after a shortened Period 3. The restaurant will run the normal break and lunchtime service.  After lunch, all students will either compete or spectate in Sports Day. Students will be dismissed directly from the field at 3:15pm. Buses are scheduled from the front of school at the normal departure times.

We are asking students to come to school on Monday 23 June in their house colours. This is a non-uniform day and there is no charge to students for coming in on this day wearing their house colours. Non uniform must, of course, be safe and appropriate for school.

Students who are competing in the afternoon Sports Day events must bring to school either their PE kit or sportswear in their house colours. They will change into this at lunchtime ready for the events in the afternoon.

Students are advised to bring some money with them as there will be an ice cream van present during Sports Day. Our ASDAN group will also be running a stall selling sweets and drinks during the afternoon.  All students must bring a sun hat and sun cream as well as a bottle of water specifically for the afternoon.

A letter with full details was sent home on Tuesday, but can be read here: Sports Day letter 17 June 2025.

We are looking forward to an exciting and enjoyable day!

PRELOVED UNIFORM
Donations Required

As we approach the end of another school year, please consider donating your preloved uniform to the school. We are looking for good quality school uniform and PE kit for resale during evening events - including Year 8 Graduation and Year 7 Transition Evening. Our second-hand uniform stall is staffed by students and is sold in exchange for a donation to the Eco-Committee to spend on sustainable projects and initiatives for the whole school. Please drop any uniform donations into reception.

PUPIL PREMIUM/FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Are you eligible?

If you have a child who is joining us in Year 7 this September, we want to ensure that their transition to our school is as smooth as possible. While we have many strategies in place to support this, we want to inform you about eligibility for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium funding. Free School Meals provide students with access to healthy school food, which can improve their readiness to learn and overall wellbeing.

Registering for Free School Meals could also unlock additional Pupil Premium funding for the school. At Little Heath School, students eligible for Pupil Premium receive valuable contributions towards uniform, resources, trips, and other interventions. Therefore, it is highly beneficial to apply if you meet the criteria.

More information about eligibility, and how to apply, can be found here: LHS PP and FSM letter 17 June 2025

MESSAGE FROM MISS KENNEDY

I would like to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the exceptional way our Year 10 students approached their recent PPEs.

This was a particularly challenging time for our students as they navigated the demands of formal assessments, especially as it was the first time in official exam venues. Despite the pressures and the intense heat, they rose to the occasion with maturity, determination, and a commendable sense of focus.

We were especially impressed by the sheer volume of revision many students undertook in preparation for their exams. Their dedication to their studies was evident not only in their individual efforts but also in the way they supported one another throughout the period. It was inspiring to see them take such ownership of their learning.

Using the actual exam venues for the first time can be a daunting experience, yet our Year 10s handled the transition with composure and resilience. This experience will serve them well as they prepare for their final GCSE exams next year.

Please join me in congratulating your son/daughter for their hard work and conduct. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to continuing to support them through the remainder of the academic year and into Year 11.
