I cannot quite believe that we have reached the end of the year! It only seems like a moment ago when we were opening the gates after the summer and welcoming a new Year 7 cohort. Time flies, as they say.
I hope that this edition of the monthly Newsletter gives you a flavour of all the amazing things that have gone on this term. For me personally, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and the Summer Concert were particular highlights, representing as they do the level of talent that Little Heath students possess. I am so fortunate to be Headteacher at LHS.
Thank you for your continued support of what we do at the school. I hope you have a lovely summer.
Mr David Ramsden
Headteacher

GCSE & A level Results Day Information
Good luck to our Year 13 and Year 11 students who will be in to collect their examination results over the summer holidays. The details are as follows:
A level (GCE) Results - Thursday 15 August 2024
8:30am - 11:00am in Sixth Form
GCSE Results - Thursday 22 August 2024*
9:00am - 11:00am in the Canteen, Main Hall
*Sixth Form enrolment begins in Sixth Form on 22 August 2024. Click here for more details.
Unable to arrive before 11am?
If students are not able to collect their results before 11am, they are welcome to collect from the Exams Office until 12pm on the day. Any results that remain uncollected after this time will be posted home.
Unable to collect your results in person?
If students need to nominate someone to collect their results, they will need to email exams@littleheath.org.uk, from their Little Heath School email address, with the details of the person who will be collecting them. Please email us with as much notice as possible, as we are not able to deal with requests sent on Results Day. The nominated person must bring identification with them in order to collect the results on Results Day. Those results not collected in person, or by the nominated person, will be posted home.
Contact information
If you have any questions relating to either of the results days or exam results, you can email the Exams Officer, Mrs Strudley, by emailing exams@littleheath.org.uk. She will be available from 7 August.
Start of Term Arrangements - September 2024
Please note that we have a staggered start to the term in September. Year 7 and Year 12 students will be expected in school on Thursday 5 September. All year groups will return to school on Friday 6 September.
Changes to Required Equipment List
From September 2024, students will need to ensure they have a glue stick and a reusable water bottle with them each day.
In an effort to reduce litter on the school site and as a commitment to being more sustainable, students are discouraged from buying bottled water or reusing disposable plastic bottles. We request that they purchase reusable bottles that can be refilled at school at one of our water refill stations.
We are now stocking black stainless steel thermal sports bottles for £3.50 each. They feature double-walled insulation, a secure screw-on lid with a handle, a keyring carabiner and a convenient flip reusable straw. Glue can also be purchased from Resources.
Wellbeing over the summer holidays
Mr Linz has put together a short video to offer support to parents and students over the summer holiday. Have a look over on our YouTube channel: Support over Summer 2024 - YouTube

The Year 8 Graduation event is not only a celebration of their achievements, but it allows us to remember the highlights and to showcase some of the excellent work that you have produced at Key Stage 3. It also enables us to share our excitement about their move to Key Stage 4 next year!
Head of Year 8, Mrs Tidbury, said: "You are a tremendous bunch of young adults, with strong morals and integrity and it has been an absolute honour and privilege to work beside you all this past academic year. I will really miss you next year, and cannot wait to hear of all of your successes in KS4 – go forward and be brilliant because for each and every one of you the sky is the limit."
To our performers, our prize winners, and to every single one of our students and their families, we hope you enjoyed celebrating with us!

Summer Concert: A Celebration of Stage and Screen
Lights, camera, Summer Concert 2024, action!
What a fantastic evening of talent, brought to you by our fantastic music department, and incredible students. We were so pleased to see some of our Year 11 and Year 13 students return to take part perform, and it was lovely to welcome some new faces this year!
Musical performances included the 'James Bond' theme, a medley of songs from 'The Greatest Showman', “Bella Ciao” from the Netflix crime drama series 'Money Heist' and of course the Big Sing featured "I’m Still Standing” featured in the Elton John biopic Rocketman (very appropriate for this time in the school year!) and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” featured in Sister Act 2 and Motown: The Musical.
Thanks to everyone who took part in what was a fantastic evening!
Well done to all of our athletes, spectators and staff for a fantastic afternoon of sport! An even bigger thank you must go to our amazing PE Department for organising the afternoon!
The results for Sports Day are...
4th place: Warwick
3rd place: Stirling
2nd place: Conway
and in 1st place... ARUNDEL!!!

A number of students attended the English Schools' Athletic Association (ESAA) Track and Field Championships in Birmingham at the month.
Year 11 student, Patricia, was first in her heat and made it into the 300m Inter girls' final and took second place, receiving a silver medal. She has now been selected to represent England at the SIAB Home Countries International School Track and Field Championships on 20 July 2024 in Carmarthan.
Fingers crossed for Patricia in Wales!!

Well done to all our competitors in the competition, including Dillon (Year 9), who ran well in his Junior boys' 200m heat; Ed (Year 10) threw his hammer well in the interboys' competition; and Fin (Year 13) who made it into the senior boys' final for hammer, placing fourth.

Summer in Year 10 successfully trialled for the England U15s basketball team this term, and has been asked to represent her country in upcoming European tournaments.
Whilst at the Jr. NBA European Finals in Spain, Summer competed in the 3pt shooting competition against the best shooters across Europe and won!
She has also just captained her South England U15s team to a national title. We are all so proud of Summer and her amazing achievements, as we know she has worked so hard to get there!

We can't end this section without thanking our Head Students, Annabelle and Quabi, who have worked hard to support the school, and the Sixth Form, this year.
We wish them every success in their adventures beyond Little Heath!
