Communications at LHS

Regular Communications

At Little Heath School we use an electronic communication system which is part of our management information system (MIS) called Arbor, which allows us to keep our parents and carers up to date with everything school related via emails and text alerts. Emails will show in your inbox from 'Arbor-Education'.

We recommend all parents/carers to download the Arbor Parent App. Instructions for downloading and using these apps can be found here (Parent App) and, if students wish to also download the app, they can do so here (Student App).

Arbor records the following information for your child:

  • all House points and behaviour points;
  • any teacher narrative about the points;
  • detention notifications and information.

Additionally, you will be able to view your child's timetable and attendance records on Arbor. You will also be able to report a student’s absence from school using the App.

Weekly Bulletin

Each Friday we email home our Weekly Bulletin. This contains important notices for parents, carers and students, as well as helpful local information regarding community events and notices. The Bulletin reduces the number of general emails sent home, so it is important to read this each week to ensure you don't miss important information, or calls to action. It also includes key dates and upcoming events for the following two weeks, and the latest Careers Bulletin with information about colleges and universities, work experience, job vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities.

All the Weekly Bulletin's for the past four weeks, along with the monthly newsletter, can be found on the website here: Latest LHS Newsletters. The monthly newsletter, 'LHS Connected', is emailed home at the end of each month, and contains good news articles and student spotlight articles. If you would like to share some good news with us, or students' achievements outside of school, please email: marketing@littleheath.org.uk.

ParentMail

We use the online payment system, ParentMail.  When your child starts at school, you will be sent an activation email.  You will need to set up your account. If you have more than one child attending Little Heath School or any other school using ParentMail, you can combine the accounts to make it easier.

ParentMail will enable parents to pay for school meals in the canteen, various school activities, trips, events, equipment and revision materials.  Parents can monitor what their children are eating and how much they are spending on a daily basis at the school's catering facilities.

Stationery packs, calculators and gum shields can be purchased directly via ParentMail for the student to collect from Resources. Students can find Resources on floor 3 of A Block, by the central stairwell.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact Finance at finance@littleheath.org.uk or to access the ParentMail Website please click here: www.parentmail.co.uk

Satchel One

Satchel One is our main method for setting homework. Students and parents/carers will receive a login at the point you join the school. You can see what homework has been set, how long it should take, the submission date and any resources required. As a parent/guardian, we suggest you check the website regularly to keep an overview of the homework that has been set.
