We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr John Micklewhite, Headteacher of Birch Copse Primary School.

Birch Copse is an important part of our wider community, and John’s dedication to local children and families has had a lasting impact on many of the students who have joined us here at Little Heath.

On behalf of our whole school community, I extend our sincere condolences to John’s family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.

Mr Ramsden

DESIGN CHALLENGE TEAM
Survey Request

Students taking part in the Newbury & District Agricultural Society (NADAS) Design, Make and Market Challenge are currently working on a project to develop a product to help educate younger children (0-10yrs) about climate change. They really need your help with their product research.

If you have a child aged between 0-10 years old, or work with children in this age bracket, could you please complete this survey. It should only take a few minutes: https://forms.office.com/e/JZ9TEwUPhA

Last year, the team won the competition and are back to retain their title. They would be hugely grateful for your support. Thank you!

NAME OUR NATURE SPACE
Deadline – Monday 9 March

This week, Mr Ramsden launched a competition to name the new Nature Space. In this video, he walks you round the new space, shows you what has been achieved so far, and what we are planning to do next: https://youtu.be/LgYddSmjNdM.

Many students will be invited out to work on the space over the next few weeks in time for the official naming ceremony on Thursday 19 March.

We are asking students to give us suggestions for the space using the online form by Monday 9 March. Be creative! We'd love to capture the feel of the space and what we want to achieve for biodiversity, outdoor learning and wellbeing. More details, and a link to the online form, on Satchel One.

CAREERS & HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR
Stallholders Welcome!

The Careers and Higher Education Fair takes place in Sixth Form, on the morning of Tuesday 23 June. This falls during our "Futures Week" for Year 12, where we encourage students to consider what they will do when they leave Little Heath School.

We have over 200 Year 12 students, and it's an opportunity for them to meet a variety of employers and universities face to face, and to see the vast array of employment sectors and to hopefully inspire them to start researching possible future career paths.

If your organisation would like to be part of this exciting event, please contact our Careers Lead, Mrs Wooller at ewooller@littleheath.org.uk. We are especially looking to highlight Green Careers this year, so please contact us if you can support the promotion of job roles and further education opportunities in this sector.
