INTERNATIONAL SPACE COMPETITION
Can you help our Year 12 students fundraise for their entry?

Year 12 students, Maxim, Jasmai and Atharv, are participating in the European Space Agency's CanSat Competition and need your help to raise money to build a model satellite and represent Little Heath School and the UK at the international finals in the Netherlands!

They need to raise £400 to be spent on 3D printing, mechanical and electronic components, which will then be launched 400m in the air on a model rocket.

Follow them, the Delta-V Divas, on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok for even more updates on our progress!

BOOK DONATIONS
World Book Day – 5 March

In preparation for World Book Day, we are on the search for any novels that you may want to rehome. Teen fiction would be best, so we can give them to our students; however, any adult fiction would also be appreciated. Students can drop off any donations at the English Office. Thank you!

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
Residents of Holybrook Parish

Holybrook Parish Council is pleased to share details of two community competitions running in 2026:

  • Blooming Beauties Competition
  • Holybrook Photography Competition

As part of the Photography Competition, they would like to highlight the category “Our Parish Through Young Eyes”, which is open to children and teenagers (up to and including 16 year olds) who live in the Holybrook parish.

This category invites participants to capture Holybrook from their own perspective – from gardens and green spaces to wildlife and everyday outdoor scenes that reflect parish life. It is a great opportunity for pupils to engage creatively with their local environment.

If you have an interest in photography or creative activities, full details of both competitions and their rules can be found here: Holybrook Parish Competition Details 2026

If you are unsure if you live within Holybrook Parish, it is made up primarily of Beansheaf Farm, Fords Farm and a small part of Southcote (up to Underwood Road). A more detailed description of the parish’s boundaries can be found on their website: History of Holybrook – Holybrook Parish Council

RISKING IT ALL
FREE Evening Production for Parents/Carers

On Tuesday 3 February (Period 1 & 2), we will be welcoming a theatre group into school to perform an interactive play called ‘Risking it All’. This year, there is an opportunity for parents and carers to watch the powerful production themselves at an evening performance, also on Tuesday 3 February.

'Risking It All' is a 50-minute interactive theatre production that addresses child sexual exploitation (CSE) and county lines. It highlights how risky behaviour among adolescents can lead to vulnerability and dangerous situations. Based on the lived experiences of teenagers, 'Risking It All' portrays the grooming process using victims’ personal accounts and helps young people spot the signs of exploitation.

This free event offers a unique opportunity for parents of secondary school students and those working with young people to gain insight into the consequences of risky behaviour and how to navigate difficult situations.

The show will be followed by a post-show Q&A with the theatre company and local professionals.

The performance is at Denefield School on Tuesday 3 February. Doors open at 7pm for an opportunity for parents to meet local youth support services. The performance starts at 7:30pm until 9:00pm.

You can book your FREE place here: 'Risking it All' Performance Tickets, Denefield School, Reading | TryBooking (please note the booking is ONLY for the parents' performance at Denefield. The show for Year 9 students at LHS does not require pre-booking).
