Emails will not be checked after 1:00pm on Friday 17 July until we return on Thursday 3 September 2026, so please do not expect any response after this time. The reception “office” email and the SMILE wellbeing email will also not be monitored for the duration of the summer break.

Our “Concerns” email will be monitored on the following days over the school holiday: Monday 20 July until 2pm on Friday 28 August.

Please note that the "concerns" email will not be monitored over the August Bank Holiday weekend, and it will not be monitored on the other weekends of the school holiday.

MOBILE PHONE POLICY
Government Changes from September 

From 1 September 2026, schools are expected to operate as mobile phone-free environments throughout the entire school day — this includes lessons, transitions, breaktimes, and lunch.

The government guidance, which became statutory on 29 June 2026, reinforces the need for clear, consistently applied school policies to support learning, wellbeing, and safeguarding.

Although we have been operating as a 'mobile free' school for some time, we have made changes to our policy to reflect the recent government advice. Here is an extract from the amended policy:

Mobile phones and other smart devices, including smartwatches and any device capable of communication, notifications, or recording, must not be used or visible at any point from the moment students arrive on the school site. Devices should remain switched off and stored in bags until students leave the site at the end of the day. 

The school operates a mobile phone-free environment throughout the entire school day, from arrival on site, including lessons, movement between lessons, breaktimes and lunchtime. Any use of such devices is not permitted unless explicitly authorised by staff in exceptional circumstances.  

If a mobile phone or other smart device, including a smartwatch is seen or heard by a member of staff during the school day, it will be confiscated. 

Parents will be informed, and they must collect the device from school.’

The following changes apply to our Sixth Form students only:

Sixth form students are permitted to use mobile phones and other smart devices, including smartwatches, within the designated sixth form centre, provided they follow all staff instructions and use devices appropriately for study and independent learning. Outside of the sixth form centre, including in corridors, social areas, and the main school site, sixth form students are subject to the same expectations as KS3 and KS4 students. Mobile phones and smart devices must not be seen or heard during the school day and will be confiscated if this rule is breached.
