PUNCTUALITY TO LESSONS
As you may be aware, we currently issue a late lunch detention to students who are late to school or are late immediately after break or lunch. This has had a significant positive impact on punctuality across the school. We are now going to extend this to lateness to all lessons.
Our threshold for deciding if a student is late is if they arrive significantly after their peers, without a valid reason or a note from a member of staff. Teachers will use their professional judgment for this. Students will receive a sanction if they are late to lessons three times in a week, and this sanction will escalate if this happens on repeated occasions. Please talk to your child about the importance of punctuality to all of their lessons.
Thank you,
Mr Coulson

TRIPS
Over the next year we have many trips planned for all year groups and information regarding these will come out when the trips are launched. For your child to be considered for a trip you need to ensure the online medical form has been completed. If you have not completed this, then it will come up as a new form on ParentMail.
Please refer to the following document for important information regarding voluntary contributions, payment details, and other trip-related arrangements: Charging for school activities
Please note, trips will only be able to run with sufficient student numbers and funding to make it viable. If you have any question or concerns please contact our Finance team at

Tips for Staying Sustainable this Half Term
While Halloween thrills with frightful fun, the amount of waste it generates is enough to make us truly shudder. From pumpkins to costumes and decorations, Halloween waste is on the rise in the UK, leaving a ghastly footprint on the environment.
According to recent reports, around 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste are generated in the UK during Halloween each year, with the main culprits being costumes, accessories, and decorations. Every year, a staggering 17 to 24 million pumpkins are purchased across the UK. The good news is that between 10 to 15 million of these pumpkins are grown locally and harvested in the UK, however, it’s estimated that around 13 million pumpkins are carved into lanterns and then thrown straight into household bins, leading to a spine-tingling 18,000 tonnes of pumpkin waste ending up in landfill.
By making a few simple changes, we can all reduce the wasteful side of Halloween and help preserve the planet, so future generations can enjoy it too...and save a few pounds on the way! For tips for a greener Halloween, read the articles below:
