SUMMER REMINDERS
Hot Weather and Hayfever
With the warmer weather conditions, students should be adequately prepared for the day. All students should bring a reusable water bottle to school every day, as part of our equipment requirements. They can be refilled at the water fountains around school site.
Students are also permitted to wear smart, tailored black shorts during warm weather. No other styles of shorts are acceptable.
With the current high pollen count, please can you also ensure your child has taken appropriate preventative medication (if necessary) in the morning to ensure they do not suffer during the day. We DO NOT have hayfever medication in school.

NO MOW MAY
Pause or Reduce Mowing to Help Nature
If you haven't heard of No Mow May before, it's a movement to encourage people to reduce or pause lawn mowing during May to support pollinators and promote biodiversity.
Approximately 97% of flower-rich meadows have been lost since the 1930s, and with them, vital food and habitat needed by wildlife. There’s around 23 million gardens in the UK, so imagine the impact if we all took part! Even the smallest grassy patches can add up.
This year in school, we will be leaving the grass area behind Art and Drama, and an area under the trees by the minibuses, un-mown during May. This will encourage more wildflowers like dandelions and clover, which are ideal food for pollinators. It's a small action to take in school, but it has a big impact on nature.
Here is a short video you can watch to find out more: Why you should take part in No Mow May
