WHOLE SCHOOL Notices

PUNCTUALITY TO LESSONS

All students are being reminded about the importance of punctuality – not just being on time for registration, but for EVERY lesson. We are clamping down on students who fail to arrive at lessons on time and will be issuing detentions for those arriving late.

When students are late for lessons, they . . .

  • miss important information,
  • fall behind in learning,
  • disrupt the lesson for others,
  • find it harder to understand later on, and,
  • reduce their chances of success.

We would appreciate your support at home to reinforce this message.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
Sign Up by Friday 9 October

We are about to launch our recruitment for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE). It has proved very popular following on from the meeting last week, and we are trying to secure additional dates to be able to offer places to as many students as possible.

At this time, please read through all the information with your child, make sure they have understood the commitment and expectations of the award, and, if they wish to take part, complete the forms linked below.

No payment will be taken at this time and, should we have more interest than available spaces, we will first prioritise Year 10 students, as Year 9 will have another opportunity next year.

Please complete the form linked below with your child’s details and your permission for them to participate: Duke of Edinburgh BRONZE award 2026-27 | Application form 2026.

This must be completed by Friday 9 October 2026, at which point places will be confirmed in time for the first student meeting on Tuesday 20 October 2026.

Furthermore, we would like students to complete a short questionnaire explaining why they would like to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award and what they hope to gain from the experience. These responses will also be taken into consideration should we be oversubscribed, so please check in with your son/daughter that they have completed it. They will find the link to complete the form on Satchel One.
