Science Internship Opportunity – Proctor & Gamble - Reading
My name is Rachel Russell and I am a Scientist working at Procter & Gamble, at our Innovation Centre based in Reading. I also lead the internship program for Research & Development at our site which I why I am reaching out to you today.
We have an exciting new internship opportunity for school leavers (sixth form/college) who are interested in starting a career in science instead of going to university. The internship would be for 1 year starting after the school year has finished in the summer 2023.
The entry requirement is 3 A Levels, one of which must be a science subject. Alternatively, an apprenticeship, Level 3 International Baccalaureate or BTEC Extended Diploma (180 credits) in a science subject would also be accepted.
This internship is a period of mutual trial and an ideal way for suitable candidates to gain scientific industrial experience. It is also an opportunity for candidates to look at P&G as a potential future employer and for P&G to assess fit for future roles at our Reading Innovation Centre, with the possibility of full time hire at the end of the year.

We will be holding an Open Day for students interested careers in Nursing and Midwifery on Saturday 21st January 2023 from 11am to 1pm at the Trust Education Centre, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Craven Road, Reading.

Royal Veterinary College – Two Day Free Easter Summer School Y10
Are your students in Year 10 and want to work with animals in the future?
Let them join the RVC’s two day free Year 10 Easter School taking place on the 3rd and 4th April 2023 at our Camden campus in London!
Your student(s) will take part in lectures, practical's and Q&As with our world-leading researchers. We will focus on hands-on experiences in our labs, anatomy museum and with our animals, and they will also get the chance to meet current RVC students, other young people with a passion for animals and professionals working in a range of animal science careers. Your student(s) will work together to solve veterinary case studies, reflect on career goals and how to achieve them and enjoy student social activities!
To participate in this activity your student(s) must attend a state school and meet a number of other Widening Participation eligibility criteria such as being the first in the family to go to university, being eligible for Free School Meals, or living in an area with low progression rates to higher education.

In2science summer programme

The In2science summer programme is a free summer programme placing Year 12 (or equivalent) students from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds with leading universities and companies across all STEM disciplines.
The programme consists of:
- An in-person STEM work experience placement
- Online skills, employability and careers workshops
- Public engagement competitions
- Student inductions and celebration events

Programme activities will place between Monday 24th July and Friday 25th August 2023. Insight into University residential courses are summer schools run over 4 or 5 days where students get a taster of university life and an insight into a specific STEM subject. These courses provide a great way for students to try out university life, help them make an informed decision for their UCAS application and meet like-minded students from all around the UK.
