£2 million Condition Improvement Fund underway
Over £2 million to be spent on school improvements at Little Heath School
The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) from the Department for Education is an annual bidding round for eligible academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided (VA) schools to apply for capital funding. The priority for the fund is to address significant condition need, keeping education provider buildings safe and in good working order. This includes funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building condition.
Our application was approved towards the end of the summer term 2022. We will be receiving over £2 million of funding to improve school boilers, plumbing and water services in a number of buildings, including B Block, the Art block, Science and the Sports Hall.
While not quite as glamorous as our new £15 million Main Block, this funding is gratefully received, and should have an impact on the students’ day to day experience in school.
The contractors are now on site and working carefully on a phased plan for the work, to make sure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum. We will keep you updated on the progress.
