Royal Holloway University - Y13 Online Personal Statement Review
The process for students is simple. Students are asked to provide their school email address for us to send their reviewed statement back to. Students can submit one version of their personal statement to be reviewed, and the link will be available for Year 13 until the Christmas break, so that they can send it over to us whenever it suits them. This is only available for a small number of schools and colleges, so we ask that the students don't share this link with any friends.
The link for the service is here: RHUL_Personal Statement Review Service 26_LINK
The service is open to all Little Heath sixth formers, regardless of whether they are applying to us or not.

Tuesday 20 October 2026 - Westminster College
On 20th October at 1pm Prof. Derek Schuurman will give a seminar entitled ‘AI, the Biblical Narrative, and Rival Stories’.

Cambridge University: Living Water: A Conversation on Change, Connection and Aquatic Life
Thursday 22 October 2026 -Cambridge University Library
Join us for a special public conversation inspired by the Living Water: Poetry, Art and the Fight for Clean Rivers exhibition at Cambridge University Library and Pembroke College.
Water shapes our planet, sustains life, and connects people, places, and ecosystems. Yet rivers, lakes, wetlands, and oceans are undergoing unprecedented change. This event brings together researchers from the University of Cambridge's Water and Life Research Focus to explore how water supports life, how humans relate to aquatic environments, and how research is helping us understand and respond to a rapidly changing world.
The discussion will range from the origins and future of aquatic life to the cultural importance of water and the challenges posed by environmental change. Panellists will share insights from their research and reflect on how their work has shaped their own understanding of nature, resilience, and our relationship with the living world.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from leading researchers, engage with ideas inspired by the Living Water exhibition, and join a wider conversation about the future of our waters and the life they sustain.

Exeter University: Competing for Olive Oil at the Games of a Warrior Goddess: Sport in Democratic Athens
The Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology department is hosting a research seminar in the Classics and Ancient History discipline with guest speaker David Pritchard (Queensland).
Thursday 22 October 2026
The Olympics were not actually the biggest Games in ancient Greece. This honour went to the games that the ancient Athenians staged for their patron goddess, Athena. But the Great Panathenaea – the name of these local games – had three mysterious features: winners got many thousands of litres of olive oil as prizes, there were unique sporting events that not even the Olympics had, and many other events were extremely warlike or involved the actual armed forces. This paper attempts to solve these three mysteries by exploring the decidedly colourful myths about this famous warrior goddess within the broader context of the rich sporting world of ancient democratic Athens.
