The Sixth Formers' Guide to Degree Apprenticeships is a free 100-page digital guide, produced in association with the Department for Education and The Careers & Enterprise Company, that will help introduce Year 12 students to degree apprenticeships and the employers who offer them.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2025
The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers for 2025 was launched in this specially-produced TV programme back in July. Morrisons: Corporate Degree Apprenticeship
This Corporate Degree Apprenticeship involves spending 3-years rotating between teams at Hilmore House, where decisions are made, playing a key part in growing the business and developing new skills. As well as learning on-the-job, you’ll also be studying towards a BSc (Hons) Chartered
Manager Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Bradford. At the end of the 3-year scheme, Apprentices should be prepared for a specialist role and have gained a full chartered membership of the CMI (Chartered Management Institute).

The Environment Agency and Defra’s first virtual work experience (VWEX) programme is now LIVE!
Educational specialists have developed the Environment Agency and Defra’s first virtual work experience (VWEX) programme. VWEX provides an accessible and inclusive alternative to in-person work experience for young people from all backgrounds. The programme will introduce young people to the Environment Agency and specifically the Environment Agency’s work in Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM). Participants will learn about:
- skills they can build and the difference they can make in creating better places for people and wildlife
- various early career pathways the Environment Agency offers as an organisation
The Environment Agency’s values and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and the benefits of working with the organisation
The Environment Agency partners with Springpod to offer this virtual work experience. The programme includes 8 modules of content designed for the target audience of 13 to18-year-olds (although there is no upper age limit). Young people will engage with inspirational content, pre-recorded speaker sessions, quizzes and tasks to develop their understanding of the Environment Agency and FCRM. Successful completion of the programme generates a certificate which can be added to a young person’s CV and shows dedication to protecting their environment and starting their career.

Allied Health Work Experience
I am delighted to extend an invitation to your students in years 10-13 year groups for our upcoming Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience session on Sunday 5th October, 9am - 5pm, focusing on Pain Management and Mental Health.

Once they’ve registered, students will be emailed links to their virtual work experience portals.
Please ask students to check their spam folders and mark their attendance on the day in order to receive their Work Experience Certificates.
If they give us permission to do so, we can also forward you copies of student certificates. This will help you to track their progress across the programme and assist your school in reaching all of the Gatsby Benchmarks for Ofsted.

As the UCAS deadline for NHS Health Careers is in January, the sooner students begin work experience, the better. During the work experience day, students will follow 2 patients from their initial presentation to recovery. They will gain a unique insight into how patients interact with a variety of healthcare professionals and what it’s like to work in an NHS multidisciplinary team.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals throughout each day. This will empower students to make an informed career decision and demonstrate their commitment to healthcare in their UCAS applications.
Students will receive certificates as evidence of having participated in the work experience programme. Those that complete the full 5-month programme will also be awarded Highly Commended References.
