Festive Fundraising for Daisy's Dream
Christmas Music events raise almost £1,300 for Daisy's Dream
In the lead up to the festive period, Miss Hancock arranged a number of fundraising activities to support Daisy's Dream – a local charity that supports young people experiencing bereavement and grief.
We held a raffle at the Winter Festival; a collection following the annual Carol Service at Tilehurst Methodist Church, which the congregation gave generously to; and finally, we held a "Carols & Cakes" concert for all Little Heath staff, supported by the members of the LHS Staff Social Committee. Staff were invited to come and enjoy festive music provided by some of our senior musicians, along with some sweet treats and baked goods.
Thanks to the generous support from the audiences at our festive events, including a very kind donation from the LHS Social Committee, we are pleased to announce that we were able to donate the incredible sum of £1,256.72! Sophie Carter, a representative from Daisy's Dream, visited Little Heath in January to thank us for our donation.
Sophie said: "We really appreciate the support from Little Heath School! £1,300 could pay for our duty phone support and advice service for a month. Providing immediate advice and support is a complete lifeline to parents and carers who are often dealing with devastating news and an uncertain future. Thank you so much for your amazing support. You all make a huge difference!"

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts – your generosity will make a huge difference to young people needing support in very challenging times.

- £10 could pay for the materials to make a memory jar. This therapeutic activity enables a child to talk about their loved one and capture lasting memories.
- £25 could pay for a parent or carer to receive phone advice from a Therapeutic Practitioner. This is often a lifeline to parents when they are coping with devastating news and dealing with their own grief.
- £60 could pay for a 1:1 therapeutic session with a child. This element of our service allows a child the time and space to understand what has happened and explore their grief.
